Homework

 Homework Policies

MICS policy is that homework will be given each night except on weekends.  Please expect your child to bring home a reading and math assignment each night.  Homework assignments are designed to be completed in one hour.  If your child is having difficulty completing all homework in this time frame, please see me on an individual basis.

Spelling assignments may be completed in choice time during reader’s workshop.  If your child is unable to complete the Spelling Contract here at school they will need to complete it at home.  Student will bring home their completed work and contract on Thursday so you may look over what they have done and sign their contract.

Homework Grading: Students will receive a homework grade for the week in reading and math.  If the assignment has a check mark on it, the student received full credit.  If the assignment has a check minus on it, they only received partial credit for the assignment (leaving questions blank, not showing work on math problems, or not meeting requirements given in the Reading Response directions).

(I may need to change this through out the week if I see the students would benifit from it.)
